Welcome to Primary 5 at Saint Patrick's. The children now become part of the upper school and consequently are encouraged to become more responsible and independent. The children continue to learn and develop and build upon what they have been taught in previous years.
In Literacy children focus on improving their comprehension skills when reading as well as ensuring their written work is increasingly sophisticated. In Numeracy they build on strategies they have learnt throughout the school and develop new ways of tackling problems they are faced with. The curriculum is also filled with an exciting and interesting range of topics.
The children are also provided with the opportunity to participate in practical and fun filled activities. During the year as part of their Physical Development the class take part in swimming sessions in Ards Leisure Centre on Wednesday mornings.
It is hoped that all pupils will experience an enjoyable and stimulating year in Primary 5!
