What is Eco-Schools all about?
The first Eco-council in St Patrick’s was set up in September 2015 with great anticipation and eager boys and girls ready to do what they could to help make our school more Eco-friendly and help to take better care for the world around us.
In June 2016, we were awarded the Bronze certificate for the work in which we did through the year. In the academic year 2016/17 another group of children were selected to be a part of the Eco-council and hope to achieve the silver award in June 2017.
In June 2018, St. Patrick’s achieved their first prestigious Green flag award! We were rewarded with our Green flag status again in June 2020!
The school council establish a new action plan each year and are set on reaching their targets. The main focus of Eco-Schools at St Patrick’s this year is to develop our awareness of ‘Fairtrade’, and to develop the minor areas of ‘litter’, ‘waste’ and ‘biodiversity’.
